The frequency of symptoms and sleep EEG findings in patientswith fibromyalgia syndrome - The aim of stduy is to define the frequency of symptoms and sleep EEG pathologies in fibromyalgia syndrome. 25 patients with fibromyalgia syndrome according to 1990 American College of Rheumatology criteria are included in this study. All patients were women and the mean age was 46.36 (SD+8.65). Sleep EEG could be obtained in only in 15 patients. Althought three efforts were made, spontaneous sleep EEG could not be taken in 10 patients. The frequency of alpha waves and sleep bioelectrical activities in sleep EEG were examined statistically and alpha waves were significantly observed. The correlation between disease duration and the number of trigger points and symptoms are examined. It was observed that there was a negative correlation only between disease duration and the number of trigger points (r=0,405,p<0.05).

Keywords : Fibromyalgia syndrome, sleep EEG findings.
