The Effect of Hydrotherapy in Hip Osteoarthritis The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hydrotherapy in  treatment of the hip OA. 49 patients with hip OA were randomly divided into two groups. Hydrotherapy, exercise and paracetamol were applied to the patients in the first group, while home exercise program and paracetamol were applied to the patients in the second group for 20 days. Each patient was followed by those parameters: Pain, tenderness, the number of waking up for pain in a night, walking time for 30 m., going up and down time for 20 stairs, sitting on and standing up time the chair for 10 times. Both groups were examined at the beginning of the treatment, at the end of the 10, 20 and 40 days. In the  first group there was significant improvement in all parameters. In the second group there was no improvement. It is concluded  that hydrotherapy is an effective treatment method for OA of the hip.
